A selection of leeward mark roundings in training. Watch for some common mistakes. • Not turning the boat onto a close-hauled course (this is the costliest mistake) • Struggling to pull the sail in because the boat has not turned far enough • Pulling the sail in too soon. (Slow, capsizes in stronger wind and pushes the boat wide on the mark). • Aggressive turn leading to loosing speed
