The Hottest SCUBA Dive in the Lower 48 | Homestead Crater, Utah

Homestead Crater is one of the most unique SCUBA diving destinations in the world, and with it's 96 degree water, it's also the HOTTEST dive in the lower 48 states! It's located in Midway, Utah - far away from where most people would assume such a spectacular dive site would be. The crater is a calcite mineral dome - formed much like the geothermal structures of Yellowstone National Park. Basically water is heated deep underground by lava, which is then forced upwards through channels in the rock. Over time, Homestead Crater was built up in this way from calcite deposits. We very much enjoyed our dive at Homestead Crater, and this one is currently at the very top of our list of favorite dives.
