The fore cabin "doghouse" - SV Tapatya EP97

Building a cruising sailboat We're back from our summer break and straight back to it. The forecabin hatch structure is the subject of this week's video. It's a squarish "doghouse", but by making the front piece trapezoid, the lines of the forward bulwarks can be, at least, approximated. The boat is constructed of exterior quality plywood, sealed with epooxy and sheathed in glass fibre and epoxy. One of the great beauties of these boats is that the ballast keel is fitted towards the end of the build, enabling the boat to be kept lower in the shed for most of the construction time.
