Shubie Park, Dartmouth, NS (Ep 6) (Aug 14, 2020)
Shubie Park, Nova Scotia, Canada Named for the Shubenacadie Canal, Shubie Park is a 40-acre (160,000 m²) urban park in Dartmouth maintained by Halifax Regional Municipality. The park is nestled between Lake Micmac and Lake Charles, with beaches at both lakes. Shubie Park features several significant historic canal features, including Lock 2, Lock 3, and the Deep Cut. A series of well-maintained multi-use trails and numerous interpretive panels take visitors back in time to when the area was occupied by Irish and Scottish immigrant labourers digging through bedrock with pickaxes and shovels. Shubie Park is also the location of the Fairbanks Centre, the main interpretive facility for the Shubenacadie Canal Waterway. The Fairbanks Centre features a working scale model of canal lock mechanisms along with various displays about the history of the canal. There is no charge for admission, but souvenirs are available for sale at the centre. Some of the trails in Shubie Park form part of the Great Trail (formerly the Trans-Canada Trail) ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5 type guy anymore. I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. ==================================== ?????? ??? ?? ??????. ?????? ? B?? ?? ???????. ?????? ??? ???? ? ?? ????! I'm not selling you anything. I am not buying anything from you either. I shoot video for the soul and from the heart! No te vendo nada. No te compro nada. ¡Grabo un video para mi corazón y mi alma!
