SAYING GOODBYE - New Mandatory Check Out Process in the Bahamas - Ep 28
After 2.5 months in the Bahamas, we're sad to leave these crystal clear blue waters. This week, we sail to Great Inagua. This is the first year that the Bahamas has implemented the requirement to check out of the country. According to Bruce van Sant's Passages South, the thornless path from the Bahamas down to the Dominican Republic would entail sailing from Mayaguana in the Bahamas to Turks & Caicos, but Mayaguana is not a check out port. Also, due to COVID-19 and pandemic restrictions and the need for COVID tests, we are avoiding Turks & Caicos which means we are unable to take the thorns out of our path and have sailed down to Great Inagua as our last island of the Bahamas. See how the super east check-out process for the Bahamas went for us. All we needed was to bring our check-in papers (everything they gave us at customs and immigrations), boat registration and passports with us! Thanks for watching!??
