Sailing Revelation: How to install a brand new rudder shoe and rudder! - Sailboat restoration

On with our sailboat restoration. We are installing our brand new rudder shoe and the recently rebuilt rudder for our 1985 Pearson 34 sailboat. I did an earlier video on the rudder removal and issues associated with the restoration of our rudder. Here we show you the process we had to go through to install the new rudder and rudder shoe. This was a very critical installation as we the new rudder shoe does not come pre-drilled. So we had to align and measure in order to drill the holes in the proper place. On slip and we would have had to buy a new shoe and those things are expensive. This process took 2 days and I included lots of captions throughout the video so you can see how to install the rudder, things to watch for and what the end product looks like.
