**NOW SOLD** Designed in 1981 by Rod Stephens of the legendary Sparkman and Stephens firm, the Stevens 47 is arguably the most well respected bluewater three stateroom sailing yacht ever produced. A total of 181 hulls were made – 56 of which were completed by Bill Stevens. The latter portion became the Hylas 47. The yacht has maintained its reputation making it highly sought after passage making vessel. Built to last, the Stevens 47′s greatest strength is her sailing capabilities. The hull shape and keel-rudder configuration make them surprisingly stiff and fast boats, well-balanced in any condition with a smooth motion offshore. They are known to reel off 200 nautical miles days with ease with a gentle motion, and with luxurious accommodation below decks they are unrivaled by yachts of a comparable vintage. ‘Projection’ has undergone two refits (as recently as 2016) and is loaded with extra equipment for offshore liveaboard cruising. The interior layout is unique with a very large aft master cabin offering access from both sides of the companionway. The yacht is homely yet cleverly laid out with three staterooms (comprising two double cabins, a twin and two single berths). With two heads both fore and aft splitting living spaces in two, ‘Projection’ boasts an impressive in-line galley to port and dedicated navigation station to stbd. Beneath the companionway there is a walkaround island with twin sinks, under which one has 360degree access to the engine bay. With a safe and protected centre-cockpit design the Stevens 47 is a family friendly yacht, perfect for giving everyone their own space. The living arrangement would be perfect for long distance cruising for a family or group of adults. Constant upgrades, inside and out, are what make Projection an excellent vessel for offshore cruising and it would be hard to find her equal on today’s market.
