The start of the 2015 Rolex Fastnet Race saw a record 356 international yachts set sail on one of the world’s most famous offshore races. Starting from the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, the international fleet set off on their 603-nautical mile journey to Plymouth via Ireland’s Fastnet rock. Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the early hours of the often gruelling Rolex Fastnet Race were characterized by light winds, but still formed a compelling spectacle.
