Piqué par le virus de la compétition, c'est la course au large qui retient son intérêt. En 2018 il remporte La Solitaire du Figaro et le titre de Champion de France Elite de Course au large, une victoire qui lui ouvre les portes de la classe IMOCA. En 2020, il prend le départ du Vendée Globe mais sa tentative est avortée au large du Cap de Bonne Espérance alors qu'il évoluait en 4e position de la flotte.
