J109 Down Wind in 20 kts - Bangor Town Regatta Coastal Race 2022

The Royal Ulster Yacht club turned on both the sunshine and plenty of wind for day two of the 2022 Bangor Town Regatta. The afternoon coastal race was tight with just a few minutes separating the fleet on corrected time after more than three hours of racing on Belfast lough. The Redline Racing team on Going To Red had there best day of the regatta getting closer to the pointing end of the fleet, it was good to get away and test our speed against some boats outside the lough that set the benchmark for IRCRA sailing in Ireland. Congratulation to the team on Storm who showed there quality across the whole weekend to take the first prize in IRC2. Looking forward to getting back on the water next month for the annual narrows series on Stangford Lough, hopefully the local boats are in the water and ready to go on the start line.
