While our sailing catamaran was in the boat yard at the Georgetown Yacht Basin, we were fortunate to stay at the Kitty Knight House - located just up the hill. If you're planning to sail in the Chesapeake in MD - put Kitty Knight on your list of places that you must see! The Kitty Knight is a historic landmark with a rich history, named after heroine Katherine "Kitty" Knight who is credited with saving a portion of the city when the British invaded in 1813. The home is now an Inn that also functions as a beautiful backdrop for events, and offers an exceptional dining experience on the expansive deck. They have an outstanding happy hour from 5-5:59 p.m. every Monday-Friday, with $5 martinis and $5 appetizers. Our recommendation: Surf & Turf Quesedillas and Calamari! Check out this video interview with Sueann Hall, where she shares Miss Kitty's story and the options for lodging and dining at Kitty Knight House. https://www.kittyknight.com/
