Caribbean SAILBOAT Battery UPGRADE! New LITHIUM and VICTRON Gear!
In this week video, We tear out Life Aquatics old heavy AGM batteries and install a set of new 300 Amp/hr batteries. Along with some new Victron gear including a Lynx distribution system, and a Smart Orion DC to DC charger. We move the already installed Victron MPPT controllers and Smart Shunt to open up more space to include a separate starter battery which previous owners has removed. Adding in this separate battery will provide more redundancy and therefore safety while out cruising. Overall, this video goes through my wiring diagram for the main power system of the boat, as well as the install of the new charge controller's panel. Overall upgrading to 600 Amp/Hr's of lithium batteries is a massive change from the 560 Amp/Hr's I previously had in my 6 year old AGM batteries! This was a week long project to get everything installed and looking neat but it was well worth the time in order to have lots of power moving forward!
