2014 ISAF Worlds - Laser & 470 Medals

Mat Belcher & Will Ryan won the gold medal in the 470 class and Tom Burton silver in the Laser class at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships. Belcher & Ryan defended their ISAF Sailing World Championship crown in the Men’s 470 on the penultimate day of the regatta (Saturday, 20 September). This marks the fifth World Champ title for Mat Belcher and the second for Will Ryan. It was Australia’s second medal at these World Championships after Tom Burton (NSW) claimed Australia’s first medal of the ISAF Sailing World Championships – a silver in the Laser class. Belcher and Ryan as well as Burton qualified the Men’s 470 and the Laser classes for Australia for a spot at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
