Mengi Yay are one of Turkey's most historic yacht builders. A family owned business, they have transitioned from building small rowing boats to larger wooden gulets, and now have established themselves as producers of some sizeable superyachts. This, the first in a series of three sponsored videos, introduces you to the company.

This vlog is the first in a series of three covering Great British Yacht Builders. Sunseeker yachts of course being the biggest in terms of size and product range, but Fairline Yachts has a remarkably loyal client base and significant history, and Pearl Yachts offer the yachting market some exciting opportunities.
Mangusta 165 "Serenity" For Sale - Behind the scenes of the Promo Video I arrived in Doha in the early hours of this morning and by 9am we were out at sea filming a promotional video of a wonderful Mangusta 165 that I represent for sale. Since I had some spare time on board, I picked up my GoPro and took some footage of the yacht myself. This video is far from the professional presentation that shall be the official promo-film...but it does give a good view of what goes on behind the scenes and also gives you a view of areas that I don't always cover, like the crew quarters and the engine room. ENJOY!

As a yacht broker, this kind of yacht presents a wonderful opportunity. Sunseeker produce very popular yachts, and there is a sizeable market for them. This video gives you a preview of the yacht before I fly to Turkey to produce a thorough walk-through video. With the occasion, I also discuss some of the practical aspects of the yacht brokerage industry and invite you to find out more about my "Breaking into Yacht Brokerage" webinar by watching: https://youtu.be/at4_2QrApiA
Icon Yachts are a company made up of some extraordinary individuals...working in an extraordinary industry...and building some extraordinary products! This video is the first in a series that shall be documenting the construction of two very significant yachts; one, a 280' Tim Heywood designed Superyacht, and the other a remarkable and unique conversion project designed by Redman Whitely Dixon. I have visited ICON a few times now, and the thing that stands out the most to me about this company is their commitment to research and development so that the yachts they produce are robust and fit for purpose. I look forward to returning in February of next year to see how they are progressing!
Dutch yacht builders dominate the market for high end luxury yachts, and are as notable for their versatility as they are for their quality. This vlog, the last one in a series of three looking at yacht builders in The Netherlands, looks at some marvellous sailing yacht builders along with two shipyards who specialise in smaller vessels than their neighbours.
If you would like to watch the time-lapse video check out: https://youtu.be/VssR5TgsS_A If you are interested in the story behind the construction of Hakvoort's "Just J's" take a look at: https://www.boatinternational.com/yachts/editorial-features/just-js-the-transformed-61m-hakvoort-superyacht--32043 I returned from filming in The Netherlands just two days before publishing this video. What a wonderful country, and full of some mightily impressive yacht builders! This vlog reviews four more amazing motor yacht builders, some better known than others, but all ranking amongst the best in their respective categories.
To see the Feadship YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/feadshipholland To watch Rose Damen discuss business at Amels with her Father: https://www.amels-holland.com/about-amels/amels-heritage/ I've always considered Holland to be a remarkable country, full of yacht builders of exceptional quality. When I started researching some of the builders for this vlog I realised that there are actually even more interesting yacht builders than I had first thought, so I decided to create a series of three videos, in lieu of my visit to the country later this week. Here is the first one!
My weekly vlog got put on the back burner over the last two weeks as I became engrossed in the sale of one of my Central Agency yachts and closed the contract for the exclusive listing of another. The exclusive listing is for a magnificent 165' Mangusta yacht called "Serenity". I shall soon be flying to Doha to produce a promotional walk through video of her, but in the meantime here is a preview. For information about Mangusta 165' "Serenity" contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
At this year's Monaco Show I was invited to a Press Conference for ICON yachts...held on the Sunseeker stand! By the time I got there I had already guessed what it may be about, and sure enough they announced that Sunseeker will be collaborating with ICON to build their first ever metal yacht. A 161' aluminium construction. The yacht shall be branded "Sunseeker by ICON". This partnership makes a lot of sense, combining Sunseeker enormous prowess with ICON's considerable experience in building metal yachts to a very high standard.

At this year's Monaco Yacht Show I was invited to some Press Conferences held by yacht builders who wanted me to pass on their news to the viewers of my YouTube channel. The Benetti Press Conference was of particular interest, since it addressed the challenge of delivering yachts in the quickest possible time without compromising the quality of the product. The Redman Whitely Dixon designed Benetti BNOW series is a great solution to this problem. For more details contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
Videos I have published that relate to WIDER superyachts are amongst the most popular on my youtube channel. The various films I have produced about the WIDER 150 have resulted in over one million views in total, which tells me that the design and concept of this vessel is very well received by the public. When I was given the opportunity to present the new WIDER 165 shortly after her launch I jumped at the opportunity. The 150' was such a great yacht that I asked myself just how much more the 165' could possibly offer? The answer is MORE! MUCH, MUCH MORE! For more information about this yacht, that at the time of publishing this video is still available for sale, contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
Quite a few years ago I was invited to represent a partially built 88' Catamaran for sale with a Latvian shipyard called Latitude Yachts. I was unable to find a buyer for her at the time, but the shipyard went on to do some pretty incredible projects that would make their mark on the world of yachting. Latitude have now asked me once again to represent the Blue Coast 88 catamaran for sale, and this time I feel sure we will find a buyer! For more information about this project contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
Colleagues and viewers alike ask me from time to time whether it is really worth my time and effort to promote luxury yachts on YouTube. They question whether YouTube is an appropriate platform to present expensive luxury products, and even ask whether Ultra High Net Worth Individuals even watch YouTube videos at all. Here, I open a window on the strategy of video marketing and explain why YouTube is such an important platform. If you are not using it...you really need to start! To watch some other great yacht related content that I refer to in this video, check out: https://www.youtube.com/user/sevenseasvoyager https://www.youtube.com/jaredwatney https://www.youtube.com/user/TomJoeSHOW
Last week I was invited to fit a promotional video of the amazing new WIDER 165. It was a very generous offer by the shipyard, since the period immediately following the launch of a yacht and it's appearance at a Boat Show is extremely busy. In this video you can join me as I drive down to Ancona and explain the complexities of delivering a yacht, and then take a tour behind the scenes. And yes...on this video you DO get to see the technical spaces and crew quarters. For more details about this yacht contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
Many Thanks to Ed Cavendish for letting me use his image of "Elandess" in London. Follow him on Instagram at Ed_Cavendish. The month of September hosts two important yacht shows, in close proximity of each other. This video offers a preview of the second of these Shows, held at Monaco, and explains why it is so different from the Cannes Yachting Festival. There are plenty of large yachts to see at Monaco, the atmosphere is always electric, and this is a Show where some seriously big deals are done!
Boat Show season is about to begin and it kicks off in the spectacular setting of Cannes, on the French Riviera. There are scores of Boat Shows throughout the world, this video shows why Cannes is so special, and what you need to know if you are thinking of attending. If you are thinking of attending the Show with a view to a future purchase contact me at david.seal@northropandjohnson.com
My previous two vlogs about RMK Marine have given an overview of the huge industrial capacity of this company and also the new yacht projects that they have on the drawing board and in production. This final vlog shows the amazing work that they have done in refit and restoration work as I take a look at an exquisitely executed family yacht, and take a ride on a magnificent 100 year old motor sailer.
