Το Women in Yachting Conference σχεδιάστηκε από την ONDECK Events με στόχο να γίνει ένα δυναμικό βήμα διαλόγου, έμπνευσης και συνεργασιών. Η διοργάνωση τόνισε ότι η ισότητα δεν αποτελεί μόνο ηθική επιταγή, αλλά και στρατηγικό πλεονέκτημα για τις επιχειρήσεις του σήμερα. Αναδείχθηκε η ανάγκη για: πολιτικές που στηρίζουν τη γυναικεία επιχειρηματικότητα, ευκαιρίες κατάρτισης και mentoring, εργασιακά περιβάλλοντα που προάγουν τη συμπερίληψη, δίκαιη εκπροσώπηση σε ηγετικές θέσεις, ενίσχυση της ορατότητας νέων γυναικείων προτύπων. Οι συζητήσεις των πάνελ, από τις πρωτοπόρες που άνοιξαν δρόμους σε έναν απαιτητικό χώρο, μέχρι τις νέες επαγγελματίες της τεχνολογίας, του σχεδιασμού και της βιωσιμότητας, ανέδειξαν τον καταλυτικό ρόλο των γυναικών στο μέλλον του κλάδου. Ένα συνέδριο που ανοίγει νέους ορίζοντες Η ONDECK Events δεσμεύεται να συνεχίσει και να επεκτείνει τον θεσμό, θέτοντας τις βάσεις για ακόμη πιο στοχευμένες δράσεις τα επόμενα χρόνια. Το Women in Yachting δεν ήταν απλώς μια ημερίδα· ήταν μια εμπειρία που άγγιξε καρδιές, ενεργοποίησε συνειδήσεις και άνοιξε νέους ορίζοντες για το μέλλον του κλάδου. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

Did you know our boats don’t have a hull-to-deck joint? We don’t make our yachts like other manufacturers, we make them better, stronger, and to last longer. One of the ways we distinguish our yachts from the mass-produced yachts is the way we join the hull to the deck. Some manufacturers bond the hull to the deck with structural adhesive, some bond and use screws, some bond and bolt. We are one of a few manufacturers who bond and then laminate the deck to the hull. Doing this makes the hull stronger; the hull and the deck become a single, strong structure. It is easier and quicker to fit the interior of a yacht before the deck is attached, but doing this means that the deck will have to be joined with the bulkheads and some of the interior in place – this makes the join harder to access. We join the hull and deck as one of the first parts of the build process; the whole join can be laminated and we know there will be no voids.
