It weighs 7.8kg, which is a quarter of the weight of the original timber floor. Plus, it's laminated into place, making everything stiffer and stronger

Sometimes you shouldn't let a music nerd near a recording setup and all the instruments he wants. I am not a particularly good audio engineer, singer, trumpet player or percussionist, but I still have fun doing this and will probably keep adding on.
