We met this cheeky chappy yesterday whilst visiting the Abbey Gardens on Tresco. We have never seen such bold red squirrels before. In fact lots of the birds come extremely close too. Dag 3 Karibiska havet ⛵️ Godmorgon från havet! Jag har haft ett rätt tufft nattpass med svaga vindar och små justeringar hela tiden för att försöka hitta var vi kan segla bäst utan att seglet fladdrar för mycket. Vi har ingen lättvindsbåt och inget lättvindssegel, så svaga vindar är ingen höjdare. Men nu har jag för tillfället hittat något som funkar så då passar jag på att göra benböj. Jag gör 50st varje dag och har gjort en bra tid nu. Ni som hängde med när vi seglade över Atlanten minns säkert att jag fick en falsk ishias och blev liggandes ett tag. Så detta är ett sätt att förebygga, hoppas det funkar! 💪 Idag ska det komma mer vind, jag hoppas fortfarande på det för helt ärligt känns det lite hopplöst med fladdrande segel och att försöka justera hela tiden fast inget hjälper. Ett tag var jag på väg rakt söderut för det var det bästa jag kunde hitta, men vi ska ju västerut och vi kör "vägra starta motorn" så länge det går 😅 Vi har väl diesel med oss för att kunna gå för motor i 2 dygn, men vi vill segla så mycket som möjligt! Men om vi kör "fingers crossed" för mer vind så kanske det kommer? Kommentera gärna med "🤞💙" om du gillar uppdateringarna från havet och önskar oss lite mer vind. Following an epic race across the Atlantic, Roland Jourdain, racing an Outremer 5X, beat off his rivals to cross first the 12th edition of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe in the Rhum Multi Class. This is the third time that he has crossed the finish first in the legendary race following victories in 2006 and 2010. Bilou, onboard ‘We Explore’, crossed the finish line in Pointe-à-Pitre on Friday 25th November 2022 at 15:06 (local time) having completed the race from Saint-Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre in 16 days, 5 hours, and 51 minutes after sailing 4,163 nautical miles at an average speed of 10.68 knots. Upon arrival and inspections, Roland Jourdain was given a statutory time penalty of 90 minutes for a broken lead seal on his boat and so therefore falls to second place behind Loïc Escoffier (Lodigroup) who crossed just over 43 minutes after the Outremer 5X. “Loic also got a penalty a few days ago and so it would not have felt right for me to win with a broken seal. It takes nothing away and I am delighted with my race. I was not trying to win and could not have dreamt for a better race. I am pleased for Loic; he deserves with victory.” adds a happy Jourdain.
