Rarely can the phrase 'legend in her own lifetime' be applied with such gusto, and the term 'modern classic' used with such zeal – in fact she’s the definition of it. All of this and yet so much more: a thoroughly modern yet authentically traditional yacht that enchants by provenance - real, and informed by the best of the best, Alden, Stephens - aura, looks, comfort, and performance. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk REBECCA was beautifully, traditionally built from the finest of materials by one of the best yards, and has enthralled two caring custodians in her first eighteen years, carrying them safely and very comfortably over and along both seaboards of the Atlantic Ocean. Under present ownership the maintenance regime has been second to none, and REBECCA OF VINEYARD HAVEN is ready for more adventures with a very lucky third owner; perhaps even new horizons. It could be you.
Competent Crew Course details: ➜ https://www.firstclasssailing.com/rya-courses/competent-crew As we return to port, we need to put the sails away. In this clip during a Competent Crew course in Southampton, you will see us furling the headsail whilst hauling in on the furling line and easing the sheet. A crew member is seen sweating the furling line, whilst another crew member in the cockpit takes in the slack. With the headsail furled, we then drop the main. The boat is turned head to wind as we did when we set the main, to allow the sail to drop freely. ** About the RYA Competent Crew course in Southampton ** The RYA Competent Crew course is the perfect introduction for beginners who want to get into sailing and is specifically designed for those with little to no sailing experience. There are several ways in which children can benefit by living the sailing cruising lifestyle. These include: 1. Developing a sense of adventure and curiosity: Children who live aboard sailboats and travel to new places often develop a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world around them. They learn to appreciate new cultures and experiences, and may become more open-minded and tolerant. 2. Building self-confidence and independence: Living aboard a sailboat can help children become more self-sufficient and independent. They may learn important skills like cooking, cleaning, and maintenance, and may also become more responsible for their own safety and well-being. 3. Enhancing physical fitness and skills: Sailing requires physical activity and can help children develop strength, balance, and coordination. They may also learn important skills like knot tying, navigation, and teamwork. 4. Encouraging creativity and imagination: The sailing lifestyle often involves spending time outdoors and experiencing nature firsthand. This can stimulate a child's creativity and imagination, and may encourage them to explore their interests in art, writing, or other activities. 5. Strengthening family bonds: Living aboard a sailboat can bring families closer together, as they learn to work as a team and rely on each other for support. Children may also develop stronger relationships with their parents and siblings, as they spend more time together in close quarters. #sailingexperience #familytime #familyfun
