Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/Wm5jVxP5uiU We're diving into a BRAIN BENDER of a project in this week's episode. The helm station is about to come alive, and it's turning out to be quite the game of Tetris to try and fit all the gadgets and screens that we will use to sail around in the world into a rather compact space. But with Kazza's knack for organizing, Dan's mastery with the welder, and my nerd-mode fully activated, we manage to come up with something super functional that looks pretty dang sexy! The helm station is one of those spots on the boat that can really make or break how fun, comfortable, and practical a boat is to sail, so it's something that we've put soooo much thought into. We really take you through what the design process really looks like in this one, so we hope you enjoy this glimpse into how we we're able to go from some blank stares and head scratches to something sooooo freaking cool! Home built Transit 38 sailing catamaran by Woods Designs in the Bahamas 2011 Overtaking a motoring Norseman 43 catamaran even with no one steering (our autopilot was broken). When we first saw the Norseman it was sailing to windward on the same course as we were. But we caught it up quickly and, as always, the slower boat started its engines and dropped sails. I raced a Norseman 43 in the Capetown to Rio race, see my website for more details I also have a range of other multihull designs, both power and sail from 14-45ft that you can build yourself from plans.
