2 days to go. And we have the GREEN LIGHT. 💚 Today was the final inspection, the last details were finished, and then came provisioning. SO. MUCH. FOOD. 😂 Eight months of food had to somehow find a home inside Showgirl, and once again I had friends and family around me helping with whatever needed to be done. These last few days really have been a team effort. But the inspections are done. The food is onboard. The boxes are ticked. Showgirl is ready. I’m ready. After everything it has taken to get here, I can finally say it: We’re going to sail around the world. See you at the starting line. ❤️🌍⛵ ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Follow along as I learn, prepare, and chase a dream that feels bigger than me. ------------------------------------------ New videos EVERY week ------------------------------------------ EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!!: https://www.patreon.com/classicmara ------------------------------------------ Follow Mara: https://www.instagram.com/classicmara_/ __________________________ Support me: PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/helgamarielk Vipps: 39088 - Classic Mara Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/griedy1 GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/173a9a5e6 Buy Me a Coffe: https://buymeacoffee.com/classicmara __________________________ Affiliate links: Dakota Lithium Batteries: https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=79634&awinaffid=2732466&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dakotalithium.com Orca Navigation System: https://getorca.com/?via=classicmara PitViper: https://www.pitviper.com/discount/CLASSICMARA?redirect=%2F&utm_campaign=money%2Bcounters&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=upfluence

A quick video to show you what the situation is like here on the Easter coast of Sicily while a Medicane (mediterranean hurricane) is striking the port. We are working non-stop to secure the boat and avoid damages.

Out sailing with the Dazcats! ▫️ Thanks to Dazcat Catamarans for the footage, edit by Katamarans. ▫️ We met some of the Dazcat team at the Multihull Show in La Grande Motte and are going to have to organise that visit to Cornwall, the Land of the Giants. ▫️ The combined strengths of Dazcat, Multimarine and the Multihull Centre has enabled this group to grow steadily over recent years with rising demand for their services and their high quality performance cruising catamarans. ▫️ Centralisation of weight is a USP with these yachts all designed to reduce pitching motion. The soles are raised at the centre of each hull to create room for the engines, tanks and systems amidships. The lower centre of gravity of the boat gives a ride that you could compare to a low slung mid-engine sports car versus a 4x4 / SUV. ▫️ This company is one to watch. For a history of Dazcat head to 'https://kats.co/daz'. ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ #multihulls #dazcat #sailing #catamarans #dazcatcatamarans #multihull #catamaran #performancecatamarans #katamarans #cornwall #yachtdesigb
