The Jeanneau Velaasco 43, introduced at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, is certainly not what one usually expects to see when they hear there's a new Jeanneau in town. But this sailboat builder has proven it can come up with interesting powerboat designs, as well, and when reviewer Zuzana Prochazka goes through this boat she finds excellent use of space, and a flybridge that can be custom-configured on the spur of the moment. Find out what else Zuzana found, in this First Look Video. http://features.boats.com/boat-content/2013/12/jeanneau-velaasco-43-first-look-video/ For more boat videos, visit www.boats.com.

The Golden Gate can be a challenging gate to sail through. The wind accelerates and shifts sometimes wildly. We call these the gremlins. Thankfully we made it through without a wipeout, even with a gybe right under the bridge.

What’s the 1 dive habit you should never skip? A proper offering to Chichi is guaranteed to bring a lifetime of good dives. True? Well perhaps not, but it seems a right of dive passage here in Curaçao :) Named for the Papiamentu word for ‘big sister’, Chichi is a vulumptious “buddha” like Caribbean figure, representing the vibrant, dynamic, responsible older sister and much appreciated female role model within her colorful Caribbean heritage. Went to Jetty Park Beach today to see if we thought the washed out beach might be worth taking our metal detector to search for treasures. The beach erosion was more than we thought but I believe we will plan a trip back with the detector. never know what kind of treasures you might find!
