ON LOCATION Who knew that when visiting Zagreb you could get to visit a vast underground military air base. Reportedly the largest underground airport and military airbase in the former Yugoslavia, and one of the largest in Europe. The airbase was used intensively in 1991, during the Yugoslav war. While long abandoned, you get to explore with care, underground tunnels that once totalled a length of 3.5 kilometres (now mostly in ruins). Today the airbase remains as an eerily desolate place. The tunnel network inside the mountain is a dark (literally) maze to explore. To book this tour we recommend a guide.
