Was it a mistake to leave behind our land life? We don’t think so! For the past 18 months, we've been living full-time on our 42-ft sailboat, embracing an off-grid, slow travel lifestyle. We've met hundreds of incredible people around the world who’ve chosen a similar alternate path—and we’re here to share what it's really like. Through The Reeva Project, we’re documenting our sailing journey as an Indian family at sea—hoping to inspire more Indians to consider life beyond the land. 🌊 Subscribe to follow our adventures: Indian family sailing , ocean living, and the ups and downs of this wild, beautiful lifestyle. #sailinglife #indianfamily #liveaboard #offgridliving #lifeatsea #slowtravel #sailingindia #thereevaproject #worldschooling #sailingadventures

The Archipielago de Revillagigedo is home to seven species of sharks, playful bottlenose dolphins, inquisitive manta rays, and clouds of jacks, barracuda, and wahoo. From mid-February to mid-April, humpback whales visit this area offering guests opportunities for surface sightings and, when mother nature allows, a unique chance to see them underwater. Video by Michael Pizzi.

It was more like dodgem cars than yacht racing at the first mark of the Craobh to Oban passage race WHYW 2023. The team on the J109 GTR got themselves out of a tight spot by forcing the boat on the port lay line to duck them about 7 or 8 boat lengths from mark. They were then caught out by the fast flowing tide which pushed them well below the lay line. While the racing was tight everyone was playing fair either tacking or gybing there way out of the possible pile up while keeping clear. This is until the last boat on in the line on the port layline came steaming with no overlap at the thee boat lengths to shove it in at the top mark. The team on GTR decided it was better to play in safe on a long race, rounding up to avoid a collision. Sadly the boat which was in another class did not do circles choose instead to sail on as if nothing had happened. There was lots of tight racing across the whole week which made for a great regatta in the Scottish Highlands. The team at Bottom Up Boat hope you are enjoying the action from WHYW 2023.

#boatlife #sailing #sailingonabudget #cruising #offshoresailing #boatmaintenance It’s always such a pity to throw away sailing rope, it’s so damn expensive- surely there is something we can do with it ? The answer is yes and this episode I show how you can make something that will save a few bucks, make the boat look nicer and help develop some seamanship skills.
