I was at Standing Rock working as media for the Water Protectors at Standing Rock Fighting the NODAPL Endbridge Pipeline and Man Camps. I was sitting around the sacred fire offering tobacco and prayers a woman walked from out of the snow storm reached in herr jacket and handed me a 5 week old Mange covered pup she had just found in one of the camps dumpsters. Well I took one look into those eyes grabbed the pup and put her inside my coat where it was warm and dry. She lived next to my heart for the first month of her life. She has saved my life many times since and is now a Registrered Service Dog and helps me with instability and balance issues from my spinal injuries.
