It's not Maine, the Pacific Northwest or British Colombia...I'm sailing a Colorado lake nestled high in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The sailboat is our 2010 Precision 18 trailer sailer, s/v "Mandatory Fun." Winds were perfect, so I sailed "wing-on-wing" along the rugged shoreline on a dead downwind run under a full mainsail. I've been sailing since I was a teenager, starting with dinghies, though I took a long break from sailing altogether. Now, aboard a 40-foot boat, I've realized the importance of staying fit as I navigate this less nimble vessel. Sailing a bigger boat comes with greater challenges, where a knockdown can have much more serious consequences. But it`s never too late to learn! and I am learning a lot!
