My watertank fills up in no time, courtesy of Mother Nature's generous downpour. But the real surprise? Take a look at my dinghy – it's transformed into a mini bathtub, brimming with rainwater! As I watch the rain cascade down, I can't help but marvel at the abundance of water surrounding me. Despite the soggy conditions, there's a sense of wonder and gratitude for nature's bounty. Gig Harbor Boat Works demonstrates a prototype of a new tandem rowing system that allows two rowers to face each other while rowing! Recently we had a request from a couple who enjoyed rowing and wanted a tandem sliding seat boat... but wanted to be able to see each other while both of them are rowing. That sounds like a tough request, but we enjoy 'imagineering' anything! We built a 16.5 Melonseed rowboat with tandem sliding seats, then incorporated standard aft-facing forward position with a forward-facing aft position. The result? Perfect fore and aft trim, remarkable speed excellent directional control AND the rowers can converse easily!
