Part of our 2 week vacation in the waters of British Columbia - we made our way to Desolation Sound. The farthest north we ventured was to the Octopus Islands, anchoring there for a night. The trip in was beautiful passing through The Whole in the Wall passage at slack tide. The hike trailhead was a quick dinghy ride away to Waiatt Bay. The trail to Newton Lake took us about an hour to get up to the top with a few scrambles on the way up. Everything was well maintained and the DIY nature of the signs was picture perfect - they were a big help. The lake water was warm and clear. We got there in the late afternoon so the sun was hitting just right. This was the highlight of the trip for the kids - until we arrived at Prideaux Haven the next day!

Home built Transit 38 sailing catamaran by Woods Designs in the Bahamas 2011 Overtaking a motoring Norseman 43 catamaran even with no one steering (our autopilot was broken). When we first saw the Norseman it was sailing to windward on the same course as we were. But we caught it up quickly and, as always, the slower boat started its engines and dropped sails. The 2022 summer created many more memories for the team at bottom up boats. Our Fav 5 Photos came from both the East and West Coast and North and South of Ireland. Photo 1 was a spectacular sunset over Kilrush Marina on the night before we started the delivery of our J109 to Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland. Photo 2 was from the South East corner of Ireland with the Sun Rising over Kilmore Quay Photo 3 is the our recently purchased J109 Going to Red under full sail on her home waters of Strangford Lough. Photo 4 was surfing down some wave at over 10 knot under just main and jib as we race to get to the Fastnet Rock before sunset. Photo 4 our Fav of 2022 was a spectacular sunset over the fastnet rock with the sun lighting up the top of the lighthouse to help guide us to our overnight stay on Cape Clear Island.
