A gennaker é uma vela nova que vem sendo utilizada desde 1990, principalmente para veleiros de regata. Ela foi projetada para compensar a diferença no ângulo de ataque do vento entre uma genoa e um spinnaker. O que importa durante as manobras é muito mais fácil do que com um balão, é a vela ideal se tiver uma tripulação pequena. Devido à sua geometria, um gennaker tem menos probabilidade de entrar em colapso do que um spinnaker, tornando-a uma vela de suporte mais estável. Fully engaged in various projects, a screwdriver here, a wrench there... and suddenly, we place something on our beautifully lacquered dining table, causing deep scratches on the tabletop ✨ We’ve agreed that we bought the boat to use it, so it’s not like we’re walking on tiptoes to avoid wear and tear on the boat. Where we can, we take preventive measures. Therefore, the dining table, which has turned into a work table over the winter, has been covered with an old tablecloth to avoid unnecessary wear 🛠️ The scratches and marks we’ve made throughout the boat are annoying when they happen. One tells oneself, “if only I had done it this way, it would never have happened.” But we’ve gotten better at saying “oh well,” and as time goes on, the scars remind us of a specific time or episode aboard the boat ⛵️

The LeisureCat 8000 StormCat is designed for serious fishing and diving and with plenty of room and comfort for just lounging around to soak up the sun. The deck is fully moulded with a raised cockpit coaming and moulded side pockets and lockers. Twin large underdeck catch tanks are standard. The forward lounge seats have hinged tops for storage under. A marine toilet and storage area has been incorporated into the driving cuddy. Recommended engine power is 2x150hp to 200hp 4-stroke outboards. It includes our renowned full-length wavebreaker for that soft ride. Many innovative options have been designed to work with the StormCat, such as the "hutch" to cover the foredeck for over-night accommodation, a removable table to turn the fordeck area into a huge sundeck, hidden stove and sink, and a slip-in seat to extended the seating right across the cab.
