When the USGS came to us looking for a survey vessel for their Woods Hole operations, our fabrication division was up to the task, and delivered a vessel built to handle the agency’s important and challenging work. This 26’ aluminum vessel was launched this summer as part of our growing fleet of workboats. I was at Catalina Harbor on the "Hawaii side" of Catalina Island about 25 miles off the coast from Los Angeles. As I walked towards the Pacific, the fog started to roll in off the ocean. It rolled past "the pregnant lady" ridge and up the canyon on the opposite side of the harbor. A very beautiful but eerie sit sight.
