The quote for a brake booster alone was a staggering $3,800. Instead of writing that check, I rolled up my sleeves (and did a lot of part-hunting). I managed to do the entire brake system—not just the booster—for only $267. I’m 60 years old, I’m learning as I go, and I’m proving that owning a vintage VW doesn't have to break the bank if you’re willing to do the research yourself. Umso besser und wohler fühlen wir uns, unsere Komfortzone Stück für Stück zu verlassen 👊 Deshalb bekommt unsere Maxi ein längst überfälliges Upgrade ✌️ In den nächsten Wochen nehmen wir euch mit: von der Beratung bei @Busse Yachtshop, über den Einbau eines neuen Funkgeräts und Transponders bis zum ersten Test auf der Ostsee. Yay. We are finally setting sail from West Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island in Northern Bahamas. We managed to get our paper to leave the US stamped at the airport, received our Covid negative test results, applied to the Bahamas Health Visa, got accepted and paid for it. We only have 5 days from the date of testing to get to the Bahamas so that's why we're leaving tonight. The wind is going to be light but hopefully we get a little more.
