1,517 people died that night. Not because the iceberg was unavoidable. But because 6 warnings were ignored. Warning 1 — 9:00am. Ice reported directly ahead. Set aside. Forgotten. Warning 2 — 1:42pm. Large iceberg. Direct path. Captain read it. Nodded. Kept sailing at full speed. Warning 3, 4, 5 — Three more ships radioed the same urgent message. Nobody in the ballroom stopped dancing. Warning 6 — 11:00pm. A nearby ship completely stopped. Too dangerous to move. The response from Titanic — "Shut up. I am busy." 23 minutes later — the iceberg appeared. 11 seconds to impact. The Titanic didn't sink because of ice. It sank because of silence. Now you know what history never told you. 🚢🌊 —————————————— 🔔 Subscribe for more untold history every week. 📌 Watch More: —————————————— #Titanic #TitanicHistory #TitanicWarnings #UntoldHistory #TrueStory #HistoryFacts #ShockingHistory #OceanDisaster #Titanic1912 #DocumentaryShorts #YouTubeShorts #Shorts #ViralHistory #TitanicSecrets #HistoryMytery #NeverForget
En un VOR 70 de la regata Volvo Ocean Race se trabaja mucho. Iza foque, cae el viento. Arrías e izas el génova 2. Caemos un poco y ponemos a volar el gennaker. Viras, trasluchas... The rejuvenated ALTRICIA, all brightwork glistening on display indoors at the 2016 edition of London International Boat Show, is an abiding memory for many. Not in the spirit of tradition, but of the real deal, a fine representative of the super elegant way we used to go yacht racing and cruising – and still can with the added benefit of modern, ergonomic sail handling systems. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/789/ALTRICIA The penultimate McGruer 8-Metre Cruiser-Racer, ALTRICIA joined this fiercely competitive grand prix class at its swinging sixties zenith, racing against designs by James McGruer, Sparkman & Stephens, and David Boyd, when up to a dozen beautiful forty footers would race hell for leather whatever the weather on the firths and sounds of the West Coast of Scotland. Restored in Cornwall for the 21st Century by her previous, passionate owner, ALTRICIA will take you classic racing in style, safely cruising or offshore in comfort, and in either mode she won’t hang about!
