Excellent Hunters They can run up to 20 km/h (12 mph) in short bursts and have a keen sense of smell—using their long, forked tongue to “taste” the air. Cannibalistic Tendencies Komodo dragons sometimes eat their own young! To survive, baby dragons often hide in trees for their first few years.
