🪢 Sunday Boat Tip [20/52] 🪢 These are the rules we have set up to feel safer on over night passages as we double hand our sailboat from point A to B. They enhance our chance to get a more peaceful sleep when you are not on watch, knowing that the other person is safe and still on the boat when you wake up. The person on watch must: 1. Wear the personal floating device at all times! 2. If needed to get up on deck, wake up the other one, and then tell when everything is done and you are safely back again. The person asleep does not need to get up, but will keep an ear out until all is done. 3. Hook the safety line to the boat when getting out of the cockpit. 4. Wake the other person up for operations like reefing the main and gybing. The person asleep must: 5. Set the alarm to wake up at the end of shift. On day 85 out of 90 in Southeast Asia, I crashed on the motorbike while filming myself. This was a gentle crash. A few minutes later, I crashed again while going downhill. The motorbike I rented had no rear brake and so I was trying to navigate the steep dirt roads with only the front brake. Any cyclist/motorcycle rider knows the danger in that... The second crash was a doozy and I bruised my knee pretty good... Still hurting a week later. (Yes Mom and Dad, I've been to both the hospital on the island, and my doctor here at Stanford. I'll be fine.)

Ragazzi siamo quasi al giorno X! 😱 L’arrivo ufficiale sarà il 5 ottobre. Non a caso, nello stesso giorno uscirà il reel numero TRECENTOSESSANTACINQUE (anche se il viaggio è stato più lungo). Che dire… si sente il profumo di casa! L’impazienza dell’arrivo La nostalgia di qualcosa che sta per finire Insomma c’è tutto. Il panorama della Croazia oggi fa da cornice a una giornata piena dal punto di vista lavorativo. Per questo oggi ci godiamo poco il mare (tanto ormai Andrea ha scoperto l’acqua a 32 gradi e non entrerà mai più nel Mediterraneo). Seguendo le previsioni, è probabile che resteremo in questa splendida baia avvolta dal silenzio fino al 1 ottobre, giorno in cui molleremo uno degli ultimi ormeggi di questo lungo e straordinario viaggio. Manca pochissimo ormai 🚀 A domani! C.
