S/V Ruatahi started life as a 1999 Manta 40 and is now a Manta 46 catamaran for sale by owner. I worked with a famous Naval Architect (Gunboat fame amongst other things) to see if we couldn’t improve the motion and load carrying capabilities also to bump the performance up a little. The sterns have been extended, and she’s about 46’ LOA now. The rudders have been extended also to give better control. Ruatahi has many other customizations and upgrades including an extended mast, "kiwi prop" saildrives, and a Hurricane diesel hot water and heating system. Dag 26 på Stilla havet och efter en natt då vi tvingades gå nästan rakt söderut istället för mot målet i väster vaknade jag till ett yoghurt-inferno. Mjölkförpackningarna hade byggt upp så mycket tryck att de sprängts i lådan under sprayhooden. Normalt hade jag bara torkat upp och gått vidare. Men efter nästan fyra veckor till havs blir även små motgångar stora. Igår skrev en seglarkompis: "Man vill ju typ gråta bara man spiller lite vatten." Jag skrattade åt det då. Idag grät jag över spilld yoghurt. 😅 Så jag städade. Satte rätt kurs mot Nuku Hiva igen. Tog en dusch. Grät en skvätt. Satt en stund i solen och samlade ihop mig. I morgon kanske det känns lättare igen. 450 sjömil kvar. Och jag tror aldrig att jag har längtat så mycket efter att komma fram som jag gör nu. Det här livet bjuder verkligen på de högsta topparna och de djupaste dalarna. Jag ser väldigt mycket fram emot topparna som väntar. ❤️🌊
