Our journey started in Split, a bustling port city with ancient Roman roots. From there, we sailed to the famous island of Hvar, known for its chic vibe and crystal-clear waters. The ladies, true to their Caribbean roots, were immediately drawn to the island’s vibrant nightlife, where we danced to both reggae beats and local Croatian tunes under the stars. Next, we visited the quieter island of Vis, where untouched nature and hidden beaches welcomed us. While some of us took to snorkeling and discovering the underwater wonders, others relaxed on the deck with rum cocktails in hand—an ode to Jamaica’s signature spirit. The island of Korčula, often called "Little Dubrovnik," brought out the history buffs in us. As we explored its medieval walls and winding streets, we couldn't help but draw parallels to the fortresses of Port Royal back in Jamaica. Both islands hold deep historical significance, making the connection between our two worlds even stronger. Food and Flavor: A Culinary Fusion One of the highlights of the trip was the food. Croatia's Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, with fresh seafood and olive oil-drizzled dishes, paired beautifully with the bold flavors we brought from Jamaica. On the boat, we cooked up a storm—grilled fish marinated in jerk seasoning, served with a side of Croatian peka (a slow-cooked dish).
