Facing adversity became a reality for Tyler Turner long before 2020 rolled around. Ty lost both his feet in a skydiving accident 3 years ago. Since then he’s become a pro at living “a new normal.” His injuries altered the course of his life dramatically, taking away many of his choices, while simultaneously opening up incredible opportunities. This year alone Ty competed in the ISA World Para Surf championship; he joined the NextGen Canadian Para Snowboard team and is trying to qualify for the next Olympics (whenever they may beâ€Ļ); he bought a live-aboard sailboat with his girlfriend, Kayleen, and started a YouTube channel about it; and with the support of High Fives Foundation and Project Uprising he became the first bilateral amputee to fly a wingsuit. If you ask Ty, he’ll tell you that he spends a lot of time on the couch in pain and that he isn’t trying to inspire anyone. He’s just doing what he’s always done: trying to enjoy life, pushing boundaries, and seeing what’s possible. What unites skiers and snowboarders, including guys like Ty, is a spirit of perseverance and adaptability. These sports are a constant practice of balancing risk and joy within shifting conditions, and ultimately picking the best route. Some days we ride huge lines of deep powder, other times the mountains tell us to stay home and to wait for a better day. All the while the goal is never adjusted: feel alive and have fun with the people you love! We are stoked to support Ty's journey. â–ē Full test in Multihulls World #185: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/trimaran/corsair-880-a-brilliant-toy-for-gliding-across-the-water â–ē An easy-to-transport trimaran that’s comfortable for both cruising and racing. This is how the 880 comes across, a worthy heir to the famous F-27, an iconic model launched back in 1986. This time, the yard started from a blank canvas and integrated elements of comfort previously unknown on board a trimaran of less than 30’ (9 m): complete lighting system, refrigerator, manual or electric toilets, and even reversible air conditioning are available! Performance enthusiasts can rest assured: the air conditioning and generator are removable... And the Corsair 880, available in a Sport version with its carbon mast, should be able to fully convince them! â–ē TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Corsair Marine Length: 28’11” (8.80 m) Beam: 22’4”/8’3” (6.8 / 2.5 m) Light displacement: 3,660 lbs (1,660 kg) Draft: 18”/5’3” (0.45 / 1.60 m) Sail area: 555 sq ft (51.47 m²) Mast height: 39’4” (12 m) Max engine power: 15 HP outboard â–ē Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld â–ē Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
