With the continued interest and increase of foiling opportunities at clubs around the country, Australian Sailing is working to develop programs and resources to support sailors and clubs to get involved with these new and exciting classes. We can break the foiling disciplines into 4 distinct classes, each with their own specific set of skills required, but all sharing the common trait of flying above the water on a hydrofoil. The start of the One Circular Quay Australian Maxi Championship SOLAS Big Boat Challenge saw Master Lock Comanche lead the fleet down the harbour. Bow Caddy tracked her from our boat and this is the result from a hand-held non-gimballed camera with Master Lock Comanche reaching speeds of around 25 knots plus. It was an impressive sight. Great driving from Stu Don.
