We recently set the GoPro up to film the planking the new LM46 performancy yacht that is under construction at Lyman-Morse in Maine. The construction of this cold-molded performance cruiser is moving along quickly — and will get you sailing quickly, too! The cold-molding process involves layering western red cedar and epoxy applied in 4 rounds, two of which are seen here. A bag is then used to create a vacuum to ensure a tight seal and draw uniform pressure across the epoxy to cure. Excited to share more as construction develops. Homebuilt Schionning Arrow 1280-S by @dualitysailing (IG) ▫️ The Arrow 1280-S is a low cost concept, focused on performance with narrower hulls, shallower draft and a practical interior layout. With a 100% flat panel construction that has made the Arrow Series such a popular design. ▫️ The Arrow 1280-S evolved from the Arrow 1200: a stretched version with a large cockpit with the door set to port, allowing a big table and plenty of seating for entertaining guests. Dual helms are standard and set on the outer hull edge giving good visibility of the sails. ▫️ The saloon has a U-shaped galley and saloon with the nav station amidships to port, with the single head and shower located aft.
