⚓ We still shout at each other when we drop anchor and then act like nothing happened afterwards 😆 ⛵ I (Greta) still question if the boat will actually turn back upright when we start heeling 🍜 Sometimes offshore “dinners” are just cup noodles and that is totally fine 🛠️ We have clear job assignments that have not really changed in the last 7 years 🧽 We procrastinate when it comes to scrubbing the hull 🌊 We still have a lot to learn. Sailing is not something you can fully master in a classroom. Some lessons only come from being out there in the elements. Here is to embracing the quirks, the learning curves and the messy bits of life at sea. I've been thinking a lot about what is a necessity and what is a luxury. On my boat, something that feels really luxurious is the little 3-pot hanging herb garden I installed in the galley up against the port window. Having fresh herbs in the middle of the ocean is brings flavor to any meal!
