The 2021 Rolex Sydney Hobart Race started on Boxing Day, December 26th off Sydney Harbour, Australia. The 628.0nm race goes south and finishes at Hobart, Tasmania. Sweeping overall corrected time honors among the Doublehanders was Jules Hall and Jan ‘Clogs’ Scholten on the J/99 DISKO TROOPER- CONTENDER SAILCLOTH to gather the top prizes in Doublehanded IRC, ORC, and PHS Divisions. Remarkably, the J/99 DISKO TROOPER also won ORC Overall for the fleet (fully-crewed + doublehanders) by over 3 HOURS! Our Boat Restoration Experience Days are back!🛠️ Our last Boat Restoration Experience Day was such a success that we’ve decided to add not one, not two, but THREE more dates! 🎉 Come along to Pioneer Sailing Trust and spend a hands-on day learning from our highly experienced boat restorers. You’ll get the chance to try traditional boatbuilding and restoration skills, discover the techniques that help keep our historic boats sailing, and make a few things of your own to take home. 🔨 What will you try? • Steam bending oak • Roving • Dovetail joints • Caulking • Knots You’ll also make your own wooden phone holder and rope keyring to take home with you! 🎁 🍽️ A fish & chip lunch is included! 📅 Upcoming dates: • 17th October 2026 • 14th November 2026 • 13th February 2027 💷 £119 per person Participants must be 14 or over.
