On 5th March 1936, Captain Joseph 'Mutt' Summers piloted the first Supermarine Spitfire prototype, K5054, from Eastleigh Aerodrome. To mark last week's 90th Anniversary of this event we took to the skies with Spitfire K5054. We were then joined by another Spitfire painted in 16 Squadron markings which acted as a backup. It was an honour to share the skies with these aviation legends to mark this special anniversary. Here are some screenshots from the flight.

Additional upgrades are new Electronics, new teak decks, Masts removed serviced and newly painted, new sails from UK sails, new upholstery, new water makers, upgrades of hydraulic system and much more. Practically, in the past 5 years every system of the yacht has been controlled, maintained and improved. She is now offered for sale from her second owner who is searching for a larger Motorsailer.

This video was taken by a friend as we're approaching a favorite bay. We're reaching down the wind, so our boards are up to reduce drag. This is our prototype Split Junk Rig (SJR), an innovation by Slieve McGalliard. Camber and set are adjustable via lacings along top and bottom of each panel. Later, we sewed the final sail to match. The mizzen (aft) sail stays flat for decisive maneuvering and quiet weather-cocking.
