Many sailors come to boatlife trying to stretch the feeling of a sailing holiday and for a while, that works. Everything feels new. Every anchorage feels special. Every passage feels like an achievement. But eventually, the everyday parts take over. The grocery runs in unfamiliar places. The maintenance that never fully ends. The weather deciding for you. The nights that are less calm than you hoped for. This is usually the moment when people think something went wrong. In reality, this is simply the moment when boatlife stops being a trip and starts being a life. Living aboard long-term isn’t about extending adventure. It’s about finding ways to live well on normal days, the quiet ones, the repetitive ones, the days that don’t make it into photos. Boatlife lasts when you stop measuring it by highlights and start paying attention to how it feels over time. If you’re interested in that version of boatlife, the one that’s honest, imperfect, and sustainable, then you are in the right place. Top coat going on and it looks so beautiful. I think Lana del Rey is the perfect feels for this moment. Hard work and attention to detail pays off

Here's a glimpse of the upcoming build series of my new tender to Flying Spur! The mast sections are mated together by an inner-ring of epoxied carbon fiber tape The sail was cut from tanbark cloth by Sailrite. I assembled everything from there I decided to use a mast track instead of the common "zippered sleeve" for reasons of simplicity and durability. A small shim was used to "ramp" the track between the different-sized mast poles, and it glides really well. Music: "The Bottom of The Ocean" by Matt Garver
