Join us on a 6-day sailing passage from Thursday Island, Australia to Tual, Indonesia aboard our Jeanneau 45 sailboat! 🌊⛵ It was an unforgettable offshore journey filled with epic ocean moments and serious mechanical challenges. We were visited by dolphins riding our bow, caught nothing but sharks, and watched breathtaking sunsets—but things took a turn when our gearbox failed mid-passage. With no propulsion, we hipped up the dinghy and towed our sailboat to anchorage. Real sailing, raw and unfiltered. Whether you're dreaming of sailing to Indonesia, want to know how to handle a broken gearbox at sea, or love wildlife and sailing adventure content, this short captures it all. 📍 Route: Thursday Island, Australia → Tual, Indonesia 🎣 Wildlife spotted: Dolphins, sharks, flying fish ⚙️ Issue: Gearbox failure mid-ocean 🛶 Solution: Hipped up the dinghy to tow to anchorage Subscribe for more real-life sailing experiences, DIY boat fixes, and life at sea with @SeafolkSailing #sailing #sailinglife #sailingaustralia #offshoresailing #oceanlife #liveaboardlife

We caught up with @lunarossachallenge sailor Maria Giubilei, who shares her excitement about the America’s Cup arriving in Naples and what it means for the city, the team, and the fans. 🇮🇹 The Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup will be defended in Naples, Italy by five-time America's Cup winner, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron represented by their team, Emirates Team New Zealand; and the British team led by Sir Ben Ainslie, Athena Racing, as the official Challenger of Record. #AmericasCup #AC38 #Naples2027 #LunaRossa #WomenInSport #sailingcompetition

We've been out on my 33year old, 30ft Sagitta catamaran a few times since launching a month ago. But yesterday was the first "real" sail. I was joined by Alex and Kristina, who had sailed the boat a couple of times last year. There was more wind than expected, 20+ in Plymouth Sound. We left the mooring at 14.30, reached out to sea until we were 10 miles south of the breakwater (according to the gps) then turned round and were back on mooring at 17.30. 27 miles sailed. No breakages, but a spinnaker wrap on the last gybe as we re-entered the Tamar. So "a good time was had by all", and hopefully bodes well for the Falmouth Triangle race this holiday weekend.
