We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). This video, taken by Patrick G in France and copied here with his permission shows his Strike 20 trimaran on its fourth sail. I quote from his email " we achieved 9 / 10 kt to windward, 16 kt broad reaching under gennaker ( 14.8knots over 500 m and 14.3 over a nautical mile) The Strike 20 has a simple dory shape plywood main hull and uses beach cat outriggers and rig. so it is an easy cheap way to build your own performance trimaran.
