After months of island-hopping across the Mediterranean, our Lagoon 440 Kaia has finally brought us to Sardinia – and the pace of life here instantly feels different. We’ve sailed close to 1,000 nautical miles this season, from Spain’s mainland to the Balearics, and our recent crossing to Sardinia was our longest and most magical passage yet. This week, we drop the sails and take time to soak in Sardinia’s wilder side. Under a gentle breeze, we make a short sail down the coast to the peaceful anchorage of Punta de S’Achivoni, where we celebrate Vika’s birthday surrounded by calm seas, turquoise water, and our three salty dogs. From there, we follow the eastern coastline past deserted beaches and rugged mountain backdrops, before stepping ashore in the quaint town of Portoscuso – our final stop together before Vika heads off to Ibiza. Next episode, it’s just Sam at the helm for his very first solo sail, taking Kaia and the dogs toward the southern tip of Sardinia – tackling the challenges of single-handed sailing for the first time. And then there were 6 🫣 Here’s a little fly-by picture reel of our second fur-baby Smidge 🐾 Rescued by Laura from under a green wheelie-bin at a teeny 500g - almost died of gastroenteritis but came back from the brink and never left (much to Ross’s initial disapproval 😂). We’ve had her a little while now but until we were completely confident she was suited to boatlife we kinda kept it schtum 🤫. Turns out she won’t leave the boat even if the windows and hatch are wide open but she does love to hang out during a spot of yoga on deck… Ronnie took her under his furry paws like nothing you’ve ever seen and their love is something else! Who else has rescue kitties on board and would pick take all the strays home if they could? 👩🏼🧔🏽‍♀️👦🏼🧑🏼‍🦰🐈🐈‍⬛🦋⛵️❤️

Sass worked hard trying to find lights for the boat that met certain criteria. I knew they would look great, but I wasn’t expecting this. I had to fly the drone one evening at dusk to try to capture the look of our little boat, all dressed up. #sailboat #liveaboardsailboat
