Our First Day Sailing Our New Sailboat Sailing Our Sceptre Novice Sailing Couple Me and the Kiwi We took our new sailboat out for four hours in Anacortes, Washington. It was amazing. This is our first boat. We had a beautiful day, the sun sparkled off the water like diamonds as we glided out to sea. We felt the power of the wind in our sails---until the wind died, and we didn't! Then we ate lunch! What an incredibly inspiring day. Remember: Travel is a state of mind, not a state of finance. Our first washing day since we connected the first solar panels :-) We have ended with more in the batteries than we started the day despite multiple loads of washing and spin drying, doing the washing up (between them and drinks boiling the kettle on the induction hob at least 6 times), and running my computer (mini desktop with 40" screen). We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP.
