First Light - Beneteau First 35 slipping into the main harbour at the half way mark of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Mom and Dad lets Billy the Yorki and me Jack the poodle swim off of our dingy. You see we live on a sailboat and when the weather is warm that is how we cool off. Billy is just learning to swim he is only one year old. I have been jumping and swimming for years. We sail all over and sometimes we even travel in an RV.
