Previously I sailed with two other people and we did watches of 3 hours which gives you 6 hours off and it was very pleasant. You get enough sleep and your shifts rotate, so no one gets stuck freezing every night. My husband and I are about to do a 4-5 day sail on our own, and I want to know, what is your favourite watch schedule for 2 people? We're planning on 4 hours on, 4 hours off, unless you convince us otherwise! Also, would you do a different style of watches for 3 people crossing the Atlantic ocean? Please comment. After waiting in Rock Sound for the weather to settle, we made our way to Governors Harbour before the wind shifted on to our nose. After a handful of days enjoying the very beautiful Governors Harbour, we decided to make our way up to Hatchet Bay where we'd wait out the next blow.
