The size, layout, comfort and ergonomics of the cockpit designed by Ted Hood on WILD THING have simply never been better executed. The main cockpit is large and functional, designed for easy egress each side without climbing over coamings. A signature feature of Little Harbors are built-in teak lockers for storage of rope tails and ephemera (handheld VHF, sunscreen, on-watch snacks...) outside of the cockpit as part of teak seat backs with handrails cleverly incorporated. All sail handling functions and electronic functions are located within easy reach of the helmsman, enabling one person to operate the boat FROM THE HELM.

► Presented in a world preview at the La Rochelle boat show, this catamaran, designed by Nicolas Purnu (a former partner of Marc Lombard, now based in Brittany with his own firm), has no hard nacelle - the central area will be fully protected by a large retractable canopy. The galley will be located aft of the mast bulkhead, along with a U-shaped deck saloon and a large 85 cm x 135 cm (33½ x 52”) table on a sliding base. The berths are located in the hulls. This Ventio #1, rigged with a carbon mast and daggerboards, is clearly performance-oriented and even optimized for sailing on one hull, thanks to a comprehensive NKE electronics package connected to two Cyclops electronic turnbuckles. The following series captures the extensive restoration of Brynhilde, a 1958 Fred Parker 10-metre wooden Bermudian sloop, who arrived here at Berthon on the 4th October 2019. She has been in her present family’s ownership for the past 40 years, competing in the Hill Robinson sponsored regattas in the south of France for over a decade, and most recently sailed at the 2021 Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe. Arriving for a deck replacement but undergoing broad further works, Brynhilde is a beautiful example of a timeless yacht refitted to an incredibly high standard. Traditional skills were used throughout this project.
