We bought a canyoning harness before leaving Australia and it was still adjusted for Carolyn’s small size, so she was the one to try it first. The fourth mast step was too stiff to be opened so that’s as high as she climbed. We’ll need to carry some kind of persuader to open them, until they free up a bit. After that first climbing effort we had a second go in the fading light, with the two halyards again but also the winch this time. Much easier, for her! :-)

Day 3 of our Christmas calendar takes us to the aft cabin—our cozy retreat and one of the biggest reasons we chose a center cockpit boat! 🛥️ Here’s what makes this cabin so special: 🛌 A 160 cm wide bed that fits both of us (and our dog 🐶) comfortably. ⛽ We’re literally sleeping on top of 280 liters of diesel—don’t worry, it’s well-sealed! 😉 🌬️ The bed has slats underneath to prevent moisture buildup and keep our mattress fresh. 🔧 Beneath the bed, we house our hydraulic autopilot pump, though soundproofing is on our to-do list! For storage, we have 3 cabinets, perfect for clothes and gear—everything we need for life onboard. This cabin truly feels like home, offering comfort and functionality no matter where we sail. Ecco la prima delle 5 tappe del nostro viaggio in barca a vela. In questa breve preview, partiamo da Lignano Sabbiadoro, attraversiamo l'Adriatico verso la Croazia e atterriamo a Rovigno per le pratiche di ingresso. Facciamo tappa a Veruda per visitare la zona e poi scenderemo le isole del Quarnaro arrivando al Marina di Kremik dove lasciamo la barca per una settimana per poter rientrare al lavoro.
